ornithologyThe Cornell Lab of Ornithology has been searching for the ivory-billed woodpecker for years in the pine forests of the southern United States, however has had little luck. The ivory-billed woodpecker is thought to be extinct, but if it is still alive then the most likely place it will be found is in the pine forests of eastern Cuba. This site could be vital to the Cornell Lab’s search. The best way to find a species is to determine its preferred habitat, and look for similar ones.
